Charleston Association of Legal Assistants - CALA

Membership in a professional paralegal/legal assistant association is rewarding and fulfilling for paralegals and legal assistants at any level in their careers. Whether you are a student, a new paralegal just entering the field, or a seasoned veteran, membership in the Charleston Association of Legal Assistants is a benefit to every paralegal in Charleston and surrounding areas. Benefits of Membership:

Education – our quarterly meetings are approved by our national affiliate, NALA (National Association of Legal Assistants, Inc.) for paralegal CLE hours, and our monthly meetings provide guest speakers discussing various topics of educational interest to the membership.

Job Bank – this service provides its members a listing of professional employment opportunities. Employment opportunities may be placed by anyone within the legal community; employment referrals are restricted to CALA membership.

Community Service – CALA participates in community involvement through fund raisers, community service and assistance with bar association functions.

Committees – CALA encourages membership involvement through participation in committees such as Newsletter, Membership and Community Service. CALA is active at the state and national levels through its delegates to the South Carolina Alliance of Paralegal Associations and the National Association of Legal Assistants, Inc.
