CLA Exam
Earn your Certified Legal Assistant/Certified Paralegal designation! NALA offers a comprehensive five-part examination to cover many different skills required in our daily work. Use of the CLA/CP credential signifies that a legal assistant is capable of providing superior services to firms and corporations. National surveys consistently show Certified Legal Assistants/Certified Paralegals are better utilized in a field where attorneys are looking for a credible, dependable way to measure ability. The credential has been recognized by the American Bar Association as a designation which marks a high level of professional achievement. The CLA/CP credential has also been recognized by over 47 legal assistant organizations and numerous bar associations.
The exam to obtain the CLA or CP designation is now offered via computer- based testing in January, May, and September. For more information see the attached guide or visit NALA's website at www.nala.org.
For more information on the CLA Exam, please visit the NALA website at www.nala.org and click on the "Certification" tab at the top of the page. (The terms CLA and CP are used interchangeably... it is the same exam.)
Also, if you have already earned your CLA designation and you are interested in teaching one or more sessions of CALA's review course, please contact Amy Temkin, amy@yarboroughapplegate.com to reserve your topic(s). CALA is offering compensation to instructors in the amount of $50 per 1-hour topic. This is also a great way to earn a few hours of CLE credit for teaching others.
